Who Can Apply?

Nonprofit agencies in Cabarrus County dedicated to addressing social determinant issues can apply for grants from the Greater Cabarrus Foundation. To be eligible, organizations must be registered as a 501(c)(3) charitable entity, based in Cabarrus County, and aligned with a mission that focuses on improving one or more social determinants such as housing, food security, healthcare access, safe environments, education, employment, or other issues identified in the Cabarrus Health Alliance Community Needs Assessment.

How To Apply

Our grant application process is currently being developed, as we expect to distribute our first grants in the 2025 calendar year. We are designing the process to be accessible and supportive, inviting agencies to submit proposals that outline their initiatives and outcomes and describe how they will contribute to community wellbeing. Through our rigorous review process, we will ensure that grant funds are allocated to projects that demonstrate significant impact and align with our commitment to strengthening Cabarrus County for all its residents.

Designated Grants

Designated Grants exemplify targeted community impact. These grants are funded through designated funds generously established by community investors who have identified specific nonprofit agencies they wish to support. By aligning their philanthropic vision with our mission, these donors ensure sustained and meaningful contributions to the agencies that play pivotal roles in Cabarrus County. The Designated Grant program allows for direct, focused support, empowering selected agencies to expand their reach and effectiveness in addressing critical community needs.

Donor-Advised Grants

Donor-Advised Grants at the Greater Cabarrus Foundation are funded by dedicated community investors through their donor-advised funds, allowing them to support one or more specific agencies or areas of interest close to their hearts. By empowering our donors to direct their contributions toward causes they are enthusiastic about, we ensure that our grantmaking reflects the diverse needs, priorities, and interests of Cabarrus County.

If You Receive A Grant

Upon receiving a grant from the Greater Cabarrus Foundation, agencies are expected to fulfill several requirements to ensure transparency and impact. Agencies will be asked to collaborate on a joint press release announcing the grant award, highlighting the partnership between the Foundation and the funded organization.

Additionally, grantees are required to provide an annual report detailing how the funds are utilized, and the specific impact achieved in addressing social determinant issues within Cabarrus County. This reporting helps demonstrate accountability and allows us to share success stories that inspire further community support and engagement. By working closely with our grantees, we ensure that our collective efforts lead to sustainable improvements in our community’s quality of life.
